voyage

Google Street View allows me to take photographs without a camera, by using screenshots. Over the past few years, I have traveled extensively while remaining at home, documenting these journeys by producing a large number of images. I have curated this series from some of my "post-photographic reportages," as I find these images particularly unique. They combine a clear documentary objectivity with a distinct aesthetic quality—a result of the specific process of capture and reproduction (automated, 360-degree panoramic shooting, low resolution, blurred faces, etc.).
Below, you will find images drawn from four different reportages: the first focuses on Camden—a suburb of Philadelphia, New Jersey, once known as one of the most dangerous cities in the United States; the second explores the mining town of Vorkuta, located in northwestern Russia, above the Arctic Circle; the third is a series of street portraits taken in Jerusalem; and the final one takes the form of a "road trip" across Senegal.
